Summer Newsletter

Welcome to the summer edition of our new quarterly newsletter.

In April your Chamber hosted a virtual job in partnership with the Maine Department of Labor and the Springvale Career Center. We have been doing this for many years because it is important to the businesses in our area as well as job seekers looking for work and career opportunities. This was the first time (because of COVID) we resorted to an online forum and really it was quite successful. Although there is nothing to replace face-to-face interaction especially when trying to sell yourself to a potential employer we had three days of options for employees and job seekers to connect. Over 60 businesses participated over the three days and over 150 job seekers attended. Businesses were given several minutes to promote their job openings and offer pathways to apply for open positions within the company. Over the years hundreds and hundreds of people looking for employment have attended our job fairs at the Nasson Community Center in Springvale.

This year’s job fair was surely unique for us but it is a necessary and important event that supports our businesses and the whole community. The Chamber thanks you for your support, Rick Stanley Chamber President

Chamber Ambassador Committee welcomed Katie Cote to her location at 1209 Main Street in Sanford with a visit and a ribbon cutting to support her business.

The Salon & Spa are full service providing hair salon for men and women, massage therapy, CBD massage, customized massage, skincare, waxing, lash extension, brow & lash enhancement, and nail technician service. Katie is a licensed massage therapist and also offers her own vegan skincare line. They will exclusively come up with a wedding package just for you.

The Chamber BOD would like to welcome its newest board member: Gary Nadeau Store Manager at Hannaford in Sanford and Luke Lanigan owner of Carte Blanche Boutique. Rick Stanley Chamber President said, “We are all pleased both of them are volunteering to help further the mission of the chamber"

If your business has news or an important milestone coming up,

we would love to hear about it!

Chamber Awards $1,000 scholarships to two Academy of Business Graduating Students.

Samantha Hebert and Conrad Nicely each will be receiving $1,000 payable after they start the college fall semester. They all worked very hard on their business plans and really impressed the Scholarship Committee.

We are proud of them and wish them and all the best in furthering their education!
