New Hampshire Magazine Names Julie Reynolds, RN, MS, CEO, Cornerstone VNA as a 2020 Excellence in Nursing Award Recipient

Reynolds among 13 recipients to be honored at third annual award reception this fall

Rochester, N.H: Cornerstone VNA congratulates its own Julie Reynolds, RN, MS, and President/Chief Executive Officer on being awarded the 2020 Excellence in Nursing Award in Nurse Leadership by New Hampshire Magazine. In partnership with the New Hampshire Nurses Association, New Hampshire Magazine launched the Excellence in Nursing Awards in 2018 to put the spotlight on nurses’ skills and contributions as critical members of any health care team. A special event celebrating all recipients is planned for October 22 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown.

Reynolds began her role as the CEO of Cornerstone VNA in January 2013 and has over 3 decades of experience in the home care and hospice industry. Reynolds understands that health care is constantly changing and that home care plays an important role in improving the health and well-being of the community. Under her leadership, the team at Cornerstone VNA has received many local and national accolades and is well-positioned for continued growth and success.

According to longtime Cornerstone VNA Board of Trustees member, Jacqueline Fitzpatrick, “Julie has invested in staff development to continually improve their knowledge and earn specialty certifications. This has led to improved patient outcomes and high employee satisfaction. She constantly challenges the team and has invested in technology that improves patient outcomes.” Fitzpatrick adds,

“Julie is deeply committed to Cornerstone VNA as well as the home health care industry. She has met with political leaders in Washington to discuss the important issues facing home care organizations. And she has demonstrated the passion and knowledge necessary to successfully lead a nonprofit organization in health care which is experiencing constant change and challenges.”

After working for several years in a hospital, Reynolds transitioned to working in-home care in 1986, when the need for skilled care at home was increasing. “This is where I found my passion,” she says. “I could see the results of my work and the benefits of patient education, care at home, and the teamwork

required for it,” she adds. “It was apparent that there was a learning gap in the home care industry, and this really drove me to learn more about it and share my knowledge with my peers. It’s very rewarding to be able to look back from then to now and see the amazing strides that we have made along the way.”

“Nurses go above and beyond to comfort, heal and educate their patients, patients’ families and peers,” said Rick Broussard, editor of New Hampshire Magazine. “Nurses like Julie are crucial to the overall health and wellness of Granite Staters. We congratulate Julie on the incredible work she has done and look forward to celebrating her accomplishments this fall.”
